Soil depth for corn

I have a raised bed that has soil about 14 inches deep, is that deep enough for corn to grow in? Or does it need to be like 36 inch deep? I've never grown corn before so here I go with another gardening experiment.

I am sure that someone will say there is a manditory level the soil must be, I have grown corn in less soil than that. The root system is not a long one like a tree, and I have grown corn in some pretty not great soil at that, sand, mulch, and dirt. It's a pretty tough little seed. You should be fine to grow corn.

I have grown corn in less soil also and had great results. I make sure to have lots of organic matter, and to add fertilizer as called for. Hope this helps

You can definitely grow corn in a raised bed. The University of Georgia has cultural tips and recommended varieties for Georgia here: http://extension.uga.edu/publications/detail.cfm?number=C905
