And Then I Made This.

Originally I had made a crate to store firewood in the mudroom, but it was time for a change and I saw a really cool vertical storage unit on Pinterest and decided it was just what I wanted, with a few changes, the wheels seemed a bad idea.
There is a lot of room to store much, much more firewood than in the crate.
The base was made of 2x4's, the sides are ripped down barge boards from our roof work and the bottom shelf were offcuts from the stereo shelves.
Outside ready to be painted.

I will have to build that for my daughter. It sure beats having to get it out of a stack in the cold!! Which is what is happening now...even in the garage would be better than flopping threw the snow, rain mud :) You did a great job! Thanks for your post :)

@Cindy We have our firewood on pallets with tarps over it and then we bring in enough for a couple of weeks into the mudroom. My husband splits some and this is what goes in the new rack. It is Autumn here, but still mild, except on Tuesday when we had snow, the first time in 23 years to have snow in April, a shock ! Thank you for your comments.

I built this to fit the space (I still wanted to keep the old painting in place and not cover the window) and also the depth is for 30cm/12 inch logs with a wee bit to spare.
