Dan's of Central Florida, Inc. on Sep 26, 2011Hi Scott, You can manually cut/dig/chop them out. If you were so inclined, there's the old way of looping a strong chain around them and hooking the other end to a truck to rip them out of there.Helpful Reply

Scott on Sep 26, 2011Thanks for the suggestions guys. Unfortunately the land is not exactly vehicle accessible, I'm afraid the shovel may be my only recourse. Would spraying Roundup on the small stumps (1/4"-1") do anything?Helpful Reply

3po3 on Sep 26, 2011If you want to go that route, painting concentrated Roundup on fresh stumps should kill them and end any new growth. Here's some more detailed info: http://www.uaex.edu/Other_Areas/publications/PDF/FSA-6124.pdfHelpful Reply

360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on Sep 27, 2011use undiluted Roundup. Be sure to pain the stump as soon as you cut the top so it will absorb the chemical to be effective. I use a foam paint brush as the applicator. You will have babies popping up for quite a few seasons, so it will require due diligence on your part or you will shortly be back to square one.Helpful Reply

Lori Behlen on May 22, 2013you will have better results with Roundup if you spray thoroughly while there are still leaves in the plant. The foliage is what carries the poison to the roots.Helpful Reply
