Furnishing & Decorating a Small Deck

We have a tiny deck and after pricing outdoor furniture for the first time in 20 years (holy sticker shock!) I'm glad that it is small!
To maximize the small space, we cleared everything off the deck. That included the grill and all of my cute junky decor. Read on to find out where it ended up.
We bought two large cement pavers and put them on the ground right near the steps to the deck to hold the grill. That freed up a lot of real estate on the deck.
The junky deck decor went into the gardens around the deck. It turns out I like how it looks there much better than on the deck.
We wanted both a dining area and a lounging area. One side of the deck is dedicated for lounging (we found these chairs at Costco).
And the other side has a small pub-height table and two stools. We got an incredible deal on that dining set. Head on over to the blog to read how to get the best prices on outdoor furniture.
I've been planting flowers in these deck rail planters every year since we moved in. The provide a "pretty privacy screen" to our little, fish-bowl deck.

That looks Amazing! I have a really cute ladder I bought yrs ago, its painted colorful with a cute garden saying on the steps, but my deck not being covered I'm scared it will ruin it. Does anyone know if I sealed it good if it would hold up just for summer decorating outdoors? Yours looks so cute I just had to ask =)

Great job. Moving to grill off, great idea makes more steps but sure made deck prettier.
