Walter Reeves on Oct 16, 2011I don't need a photo to tell you what you have. They are kudzu bugs....and the problem will only get worse as time goes on. http://www.walterreeves.com/gardening-q-and-a/kudzu-bug-identification/Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Oct 20, 2011Harold, the cold weather did nothing to kill them off in our area. Last year we had lots as well, and our winter in the Jersey area was pretty cold as we had snow for several months on the ground when normally it snows and within a week its gone. Not sure why such a big amount as of late. Most likely because of spraying to kill off some other sort of bug that may have been keeping them in check?Helpful Reply

Shane Tallant on Oct 20, 2011It sounds to me like Kudzu (spelling) bugs. We had them here in Nashville during the summer. They were all over some of our plants and tress. The concerning thing is that I believe they find the nearest wall, structure, crack to hibernate or live during the cold months. Make sure all of your seams are sealed to keep them from getting inside the nearest structure. GOOD LUCK!Helpful Reply
