Douglas Hunt on Oct 21, 2011You should not rely on self-pollination, Keoni. You'll get better results planting two different cultivars that bloom at compatible times. 'Lakota,' for example, should be a good pollenizer for, and be well pollenized by 'Pawnee', 'Osage' and 'Giles'. You might want to check out this publication from the University of Georgia Extension Service on growing pecans in the home landscape: http://www.caes.uga.edu/applications/publications/files/pdf/B%201348_1.PDFHelpful Reply
