    I believe this is a Russelia equisetiformis which grows best in tropical climates. Similarly, Cuphea ignea, also known as Firecracker plant and Cigar plant is grown as an annual and is equally nice and loved by butterflies and hummingbirds.

      @Claudia We certainly aren't tropical here in Central Florida, as this morning's temperatures will attest, but both the Russelia and the Cuphea do well here.
