Let's Talk About My Telephone Table Makeover!

My hubby found this telephone/gossip table on the side of the road for free and to be honest, I wasn't that excited when he brought it home for me. It just seemed dated and blah.... What could I do to bring it up to date? I Thought about it for a few days and this is what I came up with.
The lovely "Before"
I gave it two coats of DIY chalk paint allowed it to dry, and then gave it a light sanding to give it a shabby chic look..
I covered the seat with a reproduction French Burlap Grain Sack. I used burlap for the back of the seat and painted on the faux grain sack stripes to give it a little extra pizzaz! :)
I am quite happy with how it came out! Maybe I brought it up to date? What do you think?
