Vintage Door Knobs

I love antique and vintage looking door knobs for traditional and craftsmen style homes. My favorite are the porcelain versions but they can get a bit pricey. I've had the best luck with finding the brass ones in antique shops.

Thanks for the info Tyler. I eventually want all our door knobs to be glass. Our home is a Victorian Revival. I was so excited to recently find replacement knobs that were suppose to fit existing doors only to be disappointed that they didn't fit our current door knob workings. I wonder after reading you blog if they were meant to replace the old styles.

With door knobs like those in the pictures, how would you do a lock installation on them. It's something that I'm thinking about doing later today. Since I have a door knob similar to those my wife figured it would be best for us to install a lock on it. http://www.nightanddaylocksmiths.com.au/commercial-locksmiths
