***My first post, be kind to me***
Our house has built in shelves. We couldn't use the lower part of it due to curious baby, but now when she (kinda) understands the word No! it was time to get rid of the discolored ugliness that turned into a mess and had no good organization to it. I happen to dislike things that are out of place, gathering dust, so extra boxes make my soul feel happy. I also use this corner as my office area, so clutter just made me feel un-productive.
So, we moved the desk to a different location and updated the shelving unit.
I got IKEA boxes and magazine files (KASSETT- Discontinued now, so I grabbed them for a low-low price). On a stroll to discount store I got 3 rolls of shelf liner. Other items- I already had, including the paint and accents.

Gave the shelving unit a paint job. You can see the discoloration on the picture. I love egg shell paint in pure white as it is easy to clean. When the paint was try, I added the shelf liner as wallpaper. (The wall next to it is still "I think this Green color is a great idea said no one ever" color.)
After the paint job, shelf liner and added boxes. (Check out the new wall too)
Less clutter, visually pleasing and not yuk-yellowishwhite. Books that were bothering me so much are now in boxes. Larger ones displayed in Hubby's office.
