It's bulb planting time in many parts of the country.

Daffodils are pest-resistant but tulips provide a feast for squirrels in my area. One way to deter them is to plant the bulbs, cover the bed with pieces of chicken wire, then cover with mulch. Priceless are the looks on frustrated squirrel faces!
