Easy
Instead of letting this sign be tossed out at the dump I took it, repainted it and added "Welcome" to the sign and now it hangs above my kitchen sink to welcome all who come to our home.
While on a trip to our local dump, to dispose of yard clippings, I saw this sign laying at the outside of a huge dumpster. Not having the heart to let it sit in a landfill I figured I could put it to use.
I first painted it black then with some soft white paint I already had on hand.
Using my stencils I traced "Welcome" onto the board.
Then I outlined the word with a Sharpie.
And carefully filled it in with a Sharpie brush.
Once the word was done and dry I very lightly distressed the sign around the edges.
Now I have a lovely sign that when my guests come down the hallway from the front door into the kitchen this is the first thing they see.
It was a win-win situation. I created a lovely sign that costs me NOTHING and that's one less item sitting in the landfill.
