I've had this project from the Nester pinned forever. I'm so glad our monthly DIY group decided to do this month. It gave me a chance to finally do it. Seriously one of the easiest projects I've ever done.
What you need:
After cutting out each piece I just glued each piece in a compass pattern. Every layer had four pieces. I alternated the pattern for every layer.
It turned out so awesome. It makes the whole room brighter. I made mine much bigger than the original but it works perfect in the space.
