    Steve, asters tend to be drought resistant, you can often see them growing along roadside ditches but the blooms will not be as luxurious as they are in the garden when you amend the soil and they get regular watering.

    Thanks Erica. I know some aster varieties always come up in the local brochures and presentations about X-rated and XXX-rated plants (as in xeriscape, what were you guys thinking?), but I wasn't sure if that applied to all varieties.
