Make over of a dark Buffet
About a week ago I bought this Thomasville French Provincial buffet off of Craigslist and was doing a happy dance when I brought it home.
Here is the Before-good bones but the Top was in really bad shape and need some help.
The top was in pretty bad shape, but the rest of it was very study but dark. I got out a few colors from The Urban Rooster and mixed up my own color that I am calling Serenity blue (soft grey-blue color like you would find at the beach).
I sanded down the top with my hand sander and then stained and sealed it with AS dark wax and Tung oil. I love the buttery smooth finish to this technique. I then painted the base of the pieces with 2 coats of Serenity Blue and lightly distressed the edges. To seal the piece and give it some character I used my dark wax/tung oil treatment.
I am happy with the end result!
