Repurposing an Old Pedestal Sink Into a Planter

An old pedestal sink makes for a great planter for the garden. It already has the drain built in!
Creeping jenny, begonias, caladiums, impatiens add color to my yard and brings new life to my old, unused sink.
Enjoyed the project?

What's old is new. After most homes got indoor bathrooms, it wasn't too long before some of that ceramic had to be replaced. The old outhouse became filled in and covered in strawberries. The sinks were homes for petunias, the bathtubs for tomatoes, and the tanks and bowls of toilets for asters, ivy, and mums. Who would throw away big ceramic sontainers? They had so many uses. Best wishes 😇

Yes, i was. I just recently bought 2 pedestal sinks from a marketplace. Can't wait to do it. Sadly, i didn't have enough money to get the toilet too.

Gosh, thanks! I am replacing my pedestal sink with another one. The old one has some flaws, but this is a perfect idea. Maybe it could also be a birdbath? I am going to put it in a rock garden near birdfeeders. Great, never thought of this idea!!!
How is it anchored to the ground and did you glue or caulk the top to the bottom?
