How do you heat and cool it?
  • Natalie W Natalie W on Nov 12, 2011
I don't .... the temps are so cold here, I only use it for seed starting in the spring. My potting table and supplies are kept in here.... eventually the plan is to upgrade to a glass GH, and then I will work on heating that.

Thanks, I have a lot planned for it, can't wait to see it move forward again
  • Nice greenhouse project. Definitely would be hard to keep warm in that part of NY but you could do an ice house project. :D

Ice House sounds about right! lol This Greenhouse is meant to be a temporary portable type. I've never had a greenhouse before, so I figured it would be a good start to learn how to use it properly, and make sure I really like having one before investing in a solid glass type .... it has made seed starting a breeze and I like not having the little trays of seedlings in my house anymore.
  • Harbor Frieght has a nice little greenhouse they sell. If you install it with a wood frame base, its a perfect size. For just a few hundred dollars anyone can now have a greenhouse of their own !

Is that a weeping willow in the background? Beautiful grounds, great setting for your adorable greenhouse.

Thank you for the recommendation on the greenhouse, Amazing Improvements, I'll look into it. Yes Karen, I have 2 big weeping willows in the backyard .... beautiful, but messy.

@ AmazingImprovements...does Harbor Freight's green house come in glass or plastic sheeting? I too would love to have a greenhouse and have always been daunted by the possible cost.
