I have loved the simple Scandinavian-type wreaths forever. I love the idea of a candle on the wreaths. I love the simplicity.

DIY Scandinavian wreath with other Christmas decor

It looks pretty hanging on my hutch with the mercury glass trees. Here's how to make this DIY Scandinavian wreath:

Painting the hoop and cup white

1. Paint the hoop and cup white

I used a metal ring from Walmart. It was gold and I wanted a chippy white one. So I put some Vaseline in some areas of the wreath and then I spray-painted it white. Then, I scraped off the paint in the areas where I put the Vaseline.

Gluing the cup to the wreath

2. Glue the cup to the wreath

I painted a candle cup I had got at Hobby Lobby and hot glued and super glued it to the wreath. I used a clamp to hold the candle cup on the wreath form overnight.

Using zip ties to attach the greenery

3. Add greenery

I looked for some greenery I had lying around in my stash and used zip ties to attach them to the wreath.

Adding ribbon to the candle cup

4. Add ribbon

I tied a gauzy ribbon to the candle cup after it had dried and was attached nicely.

Adding a battery-operated candle

5. Add a candle

I am going to use a battery-operated candle in it.

I am so happy with the way this DIY Scandinavian wreath turned out. Later, I can remove the greenery so it can be up all winter after Christmas.

Let me know if you make one; I would love to see your version.
