    With 20 yards of yarn you could knit up individual squares to be used in the kitchen for taking hot pots out of the oven. You could also use those squares to put under planters to save the surface of a table.

    If you crochet or knit you can make coasters, a baby hat, a coffee cup cozy, if it is cotton- a washcloth. You can use it in place of ribbon to tie gifts. Keep it for emergencies (broken shoelace, hair tie, belt). You can use it like twine. Teach the kids how to make a dream catcher. Use it to tie your plants to garden stakes.
