Day lilies in containers?
-
Douglas Hunt on Mar 20, 2013You can certainly grow daylilies in containers, Cathy. I might not make the containers too big so you can easily move them around. That way you can always keep the varieties that are in bloom front and center. Make sure the containers have drainage holes and that you use a well-draining potting mix. And, of course, you will have to pay more attention to watering to plants in containers than in the ground.Helpful Reply

360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on Mar 20, 2013I agree with @Douglas Hunt you sure can put them in pots. You will have to divide to conquer every few years to keep them blooming, and give them some bloom booster fertilizerHelpful Reply

Lisa Gage on Jul 22, 2015Daylilies can grow in all kinds of containers. If you still like the in yard though you can just divide them and give to friends in pots at Christmas and they can watch them bloom in spring!Helpful Reply
