I believe there is a jujube tree at Callaway Gardens.

The University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service is pretty bullish on the Chinese jujube (Zizyphus jujube) because of its freedom from pests, tolerance for poor soils, ornamental growth habit and precocity of fruiting, among other things, but I have never seen one offered in a nursery here.

The first picture "Elaeagnus angustifolia" also known as Russian Olive, Persian Olive. Yes you can grow this in the US. Once established outdoors it does very well and will spread. The dried powder of the fruit is mixed with milk, drank, and proven beneficial for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and joint pains.

  The second picture is the "Ziziphus jujuba" fruit. Commonly called jujube sometimes jujuba, red date, Chinese Korean dates. Jujube fruit naturally turns red upon drying. The dried fruit can be eaten as a snack, used as a sleep aid, circulation issues, and has anticancer abilities. And yes, it can be grown in the US.
