What color should I paint my bedroom ?

Janet Pizaro on Oct 18, 2016Personally I would paint the walls in a soft gray.to compliment both the furniture and the accessories. My suggestion if to pick some colors you think you like and purchases a few samples. Home Depot carries a removable paper to do the testing rather then painting the wall.Should you choose gray tones please remember to base the color on the lighting as well. Grays play several roles from greens, browns and blues.Helpful Reply

CK on Oct 18, 2016Are you going for a dark, cocoon look? Then using a dark warm color will work nicely. Are you trying to brighten up the room with your existing black furniture and burgundy florals? I'd then suggest a lighter wall color to offset the dark existing elements. Suggesting a particular color is difficult without having other questions answered. However my best suggestion would be to find a lighter color that exists in your burgundy floral comforter. There always is one at least. Take your comforter's sham (if you have one) to the store to get several color chips (the paper ones at this point) that look like they could work. Take them home to view in your room's light. When you narrow it down to maybe one or two, get a little sample can of the paint(s) you like. Don't paint the sample directly on the wall but rather paint them onto a foam board (the kind you get at the dollar store) or even a 24 x 36 tagboard. Hold the painted sample against the wall to see which you like best. The idea is this: choose the paint color from a color that exists in the comforter....but not the main burgundy color. That's when your room will look pulled together :-)Helpful Reply

Julie@Cut Off in the Keweenaw on Oct 18, 2016My first thought is also gray, but it's difficult to say without seeing a photo of your comforter. Is there another neutral color in your floral pattern? Maybe tan? That's a common color in burgundy florals. If so, I would go with tan for the walls. Connie gave you excellent advice on taking a pillow sham to the paint store and getting some paint chips and samples before you paint the entire room.Helpful Reply

Snapoutofit on Oct 18, 2016You have two choices. Go with the soft gray like others recommended here or pick a mauve/pink tone that is in your comforter (pic). Your room sounds lovely already.Helpful Reply
