How can I reuse window shades

Johnchip on Oct 27, 2016They might be used as a shower/bathtub topper, or inside a pantry/linen or regular closet to hide top shelves. If all else fails Craig's List them and "pull down" a few bucks for a treat.Helpful Reply

Deanna Nassar on Oct 27, 2016Could always take off of rollers, sew or glue ends together and use as a table runner. Have to remove those little metal rings. Or if it hangs over the table on the end use the rings to hold tassels or some kind of greenery at Christmas. Might be able to paint a design down the middle. Check stencils at craft store. I could see some stars across the bottom.Helpful Reply

Gayle Tucker on Oct 28, 2016Hang them in your mudroom or pantry etc and use them for a post-it note reminder board. Or spray the surface with blackboard paint and tada! you have a family reminder board. Mount on the end of a work bench and pull it over the work table when you are going to be doing crafts to save the table. It would be lifesaver for grandkid projects.Helpful Reply

Kathy Lovenburg on Oct 28, 2016I like the banner idea--find a design that you like, buy fabric and two sided fusible web. Fuse the web to your fabric(s). Cut your design and place on the shade and fuse to the shade. If the shade is too long, cut to desired length + enough to fold over on the back to create a "sleeve" to hold a dowel or flat strip of wood to hang. You can use fusible web( be sure it's heavy duty), or sew. Leave enough dowel or wood on the ends so you can hang on the wall.Helpful Reply

Judith on Oct 28, 2016If they are the same dimensions perhaps putting them together, end to end, would create a lovely cornice over a window. They are very pretty so I would try to find another way to use them. Good luck.Helpful Reply
