Black would look nice, or maybe even a soft yellow for a pop of color.
Black seems dour to me. I repainted our black door to a dark red. Its a traditional color that means welcome. Our neighbor painted hers a spring green and it looks great. It depends on the house style, what goes with your brick, and the curb appeal.
One neighbor even painted her door the color of her crepe myrtle flowers. When the tree blooms, its great with the door.
But I agree with the previous commenter... a pop of color is great.
I like red, which I think would look good on your brick house.
A black door would be dramatic on red brick or white stucco, but your brick does not want a black door. Black would make your entrance depressing, not dramatic. Your brick looks to be gray and orangelsh. A blue gray door would compliment the brick nicely and would be very inviting.
I think a pop of color....agree with soft yellow or red.
Actually love the color it is, but because of the marks I understand you need to do something. Found this door on a brick house and think the color is gorgeous! Good Luck!
I would makea shade of red for the front door! a statement and show your personality! There is a little white church with a purple door! Or white homes with black trim often use a shade of red for the door. Have fun!
Blue or turquoise would look nice with your brick. Don't do black, you won't be able to see your new hardware.
Historic red or blue.
Go with a bright blue.
I agree with the RED! And add red potted flowers (geraniums?) on the porch/steps to pull the color and top off with bright patterned cushions in a bold red print.
When we bought our Spanish med. home, everything was painted grey and made the house look drab and unwelcoming. It's since been painted a buttery yellow with a maroon front door that sets off the Spanish tile roof. Both the actual door and the screen door have a custom made rounded top in solid oak. We also added a pretty, brass kick plate on the screen door and front door.
I like the idea of black BUT your beautiful new hardware wont show up very much.. My front door is red and I love it!
As you can see, with most homes, they're always a work in progress.
this paint job was around 20 years ago. I don't the color, but it is a marine varnish, like they use on boats etc I looked for the can but didn't find it.....
Understood, however the home is not that old!
The door handle is actually back to silver!
You have wood pillars along your porch. You can always find a color that matches, or at least comes close.
Me using paint colors I already had just to "see"
