Do I k eep the medium oak trim, doors and cabinets, which are actuall

My home needs updated . I have the older medium oak trim, doors and vaulted ceiling beams..also cabinets..Having worked for a builder I know trim alone is more espensive if it is stain grade and much cheaper if the customer went with paint grade..so do I go ahead and paint over a rich wood look or do what is trending and go with just painting over vaulted beams, cabinets and all...Seems a shame to paint over real wood but ...what do you think?

That is a very personal decision. I prefer unpainted trim.

Whatever you do - do not paint- We bought a house where they painted and it is showing thru the paint. Anyway wood trim seems to be on the way back in style.

Thanks..Beauties! One Builder told me I really needed to paint, which I do not particularly want to do but would if that is what everyone suggested, then another builder said to just sand lightly and stain that it would be back in style in 10 years...I love a rich wood but I also like the new construction homes with all the white trim etc.. big difference in my love and like...any more responses are all appreciated, Your kindness is appreciated!

If you like the white trim, then reverse the look. Beautiful stained wood and stark white walls. Gorgeous!
