Maybe use a lighter shade of gray. I think it would match well. I hope this helps.
It sounds like the room would be too dark if you matched it. How about a real real light grey for the cabinets? With dark grey hardware.
You paint your house what you want. If it turns out it's not what you envisioned, it's only paint and can be painted over.
Who cares what anyone else thinks. If it’s what you want, that’s up to you.
If your vinyl is a deep honey color then grey should be fine. If your floor is dark keep the cabinetry light and vice-versa. If your vinyl is grey then be careful as they may clash. Get a sample swatch of your intended paint color and hold it next to the floor.
If you have pieces of your flooring, take it with you to the paint store. Otherwise get some grey paint chips and bring home to test next to the floor.
Joanne,Get a sample of the grey you like and try it on one part of your cabinets. If YOU like it,go for it.It doesn't have to please anyone but you. In fact I think it would be beautiful.
Grey is considered a neutral so it can blend with most anything. Pick a light grey that has brown undertones instead of black and you should be able to balance it well with the floors. I agree with what others say too, it is your house so in the end you are the only one who needs to be happy with the final outcome.
I love gray cabinets with wood floors. Go for it!
Gray with wood tone flooring would look great! I would stick with s lighter shade of gray
