Go to your home store, paint dept. and grab a few pamphlets with similar paint color collections. This will help you stay in the same tonal families.

I like to get a big box of crayons and take my favorite colors out to find the combinations I want for floors, walls , trim , counters, even appliances to flow around a room. You can make a simple drawing of the whole area and color in patches of the floor, the cabinets, the wall, etc and have a good idea of how it will really look when done. One of my friends has a new house that they put way too many different floors in that just look like they had no idea of what they really liked and it is a disorganized mess of stuff.
