That's how I do it - water and paint mixed.
Most websites that have this formula, recommend 2 parts paint to 1 part water. I actually used 2 parts paint to 3 parts water. It really depends on how thin you want it and the look you are trying to achieve. Wishing you the best.
I usually go with 50/50 paint and water.
