Depends on the color you want . You can use beets for red. Turmeric for orange. Just boil the beets or turmeric. Strain add clothes. The longer they sit in the dye the darker they get.
If their whites, use some bleach, and hydrogen peroxide to wash them. There are several washing cleaners that bring back the brightness in colors, Tide, OxyClean, by a name brand that states that it brightens clothes.

I looked it up carob pods and Iris roots can be used to dye clothes black .
