Sealing chalk paint question

it is my first time using chalk paint. I want to paint my kitchen chairs. They will get a lot of use so how do I seal seal them so the chalk paint can withstand all the wear and tear?

  • Chalk paint really doesn't handle wear and tear too good. Its made to easily distress with plain water

Hi Linda. I just refinished a bench and desk. I purchased a sealer made just for chalk paint.

I always just use a normal sealant such as polyurethane or polycrylic. Do not use polyurethane if you're painting with neutrals as it will yellow over time. Use polycrylic instead. Apply with a foam brush.
