Tips on Paint for hall mirror?

I want to paint the moulding for a mirror installed at the end of a long hall. I like either Modern Masters Warm Silver ME221-06 or Modern Masters Warm Silver matte MM221-06. Recommendations or pros/cons? Also; not knowing what the moulding was painted with before should it be primed, and, if so; what primer should I use?

As long as you sand it most interior paints will do on trim. If you use spray paint light coats (almost a mist) will give you a more professional look.

Hi Dan, If your hallway is dark, you might want to use the ME221-06. The shine will catch your eye and any light captured from the mirror. Matte may get lost in the dark. I've never personally used this type of paint, but the general rule of paint is, you can't paint over oil based paints with latex or acrylic as it will chip off. So it's probably a good idea to prime first.

    Have fun!
