How to paint kitchen cabinets that aren't made of wood?
Oh my lord been battling with painting kitchen cabinet doors. Thought they were wood but finally found out it's not. Now paint doesn't want to stick to the doors. Very expensive to put in new doors. 10,000 dollars please please help me figure out how to paint kitchen cabinets. corrie

Hi Corrie. Did you try to lightly sand them so the paint will adhere better? I would also get a oil based primer to put on before painting. The oil base works much better. What material are they? You may need to get a special epoxy paint depending on the material. You could take a door into a local paint or home improvement store and see what they would recommend.
Amanda is right - sand, prime and paint - should work and oil based will stick to anything.

I did a little research and it looks like you can purchase a special paint binding primer to use. I would see what your local home improvement store recommends. Good Luck!
