What can I mix with beige latex paint to get light grey?

Hi I made the mistake of adding white to beige first which gave me a lighter beige but not much lighter. I know I should have started with white but I had 3/4 of a can of semi gloss beige and wanted to use it. . Then I added metallic silver craft acrylic which didn't make much difference but I tried adding cobalt blue and voila I got my grey. Great it is on the wall. Thank you.
