Hello!!!!

I bought this house with vine wallpaper on the top of my cabinets. I ripped that off, now I am ready to paint! The taupe Color was on the walls already. I was hoping to make the backsplash tile pop.. so I purchased a blue... I don't like it. I was thinking olive green??

What are your thoughts!? Thanks in advance!!!

Are you still looking to make the backsplash pop? I think olive green would work, but you need to decide what parts of the backsplash you want to pop. You could make it all pop, or just pick a certain color to bring out, like clothes with eyes? People do that, right? I do lol. The olive green might make the tile look either more brown or a sickly green, depending on lighting and shade of green.

Ha Ha! You do not sound demanding! I am grateful for your responses. I think I may go with a dark blue - or a buttercream...

Buttercream. That would keep the cabinets a light color and still add some pop.

I would use the top color myself. The teal really makes it pop in photos but it’s har to tell what it would look like in person. Maybe go with something that has more grey undertones in your blues day get samples that don’t necessarily “match” it but will compliment it. Good luck!!

Buttercream is a creamy light taupe... with a bit of a yellow undertone.. I would go to your paint store and ask them... I'm sure they can steer you in the right direction. Good luck!!

Hi. Careful with making the eyes dance all over the place in the room. Olive green will not make the backsplash pop. Under-the-cabinet lighting will do that. Use the darker color of your tumbled stones in the backsplash. The sandy tone will complement the cabinets without competing and will allow the accent colors in the strip of glassed tiles stand alone. And congrats on the new home!

Hi. Yes. Cool greys, as this one appears to be, does nothing to warm up a room. Oh, and whatever you decide, paint the trim around the window also, just a different sheen - such as gloss. There's another reason a bride wears white other than the traditional: white stands out in the crowd. Happy DIY'ing!

Yellow goes so well with gray. Those two are naturally beautiful combos.

Thanks! I went to a paint store and they gave me a sample of "buttercream". I haven't painted yet.

Since you mentioned olive green, I'll suggest a soft sage green instead. A friend did their kitchen with it, and cabinets similar to yours, and it looked nice.

Thank you. My paint store did suggest another sample.. but I'm not sure, as it make be too dark...? It's hard to see, but it's like a greenish/gray.
