Hi Susan. If you have the paint you used originally you can very lightly sand (with a fine grit sand paper) around the area of the missing paint. You want to smooth it out so that there is no ledge. Then using an artists brush (if the spot is small) touch it up with the paint. Let it fully dry before sanding and adding another coat if necessary. Good luck!
Susan if you don't 't have the paint I would pick up a chalk based white paint and re do a white wash to the top of the dresser. You'll need a chip brush and a little water. Lightly dip your brush into your white paint first and then the tips of the bristles into the water to do a whitewash. :) Wipe of the excess with a shop towel. :)
