Here's a tutorial from another Hometalk member who gave copper pipes that patina using common kitchen ingredients. Part of this project included how to use the copper pipes for his project but you don't need that part. Just scroll down to where he creates the patina. Wishing you the best.

You could use acrylic paint in green and other colors to faux age copper container.
Thank you for your answers! I found this idea from a professional copper company: Use Miracle-Grow! For a blue patina mix 1 part Miracle-Grow with 3 parts water and spray or wipe on copper. Foe a green patina use 1part Miracle-Grow and 3 parts red wine vinegar. A patina will form in 30 minutes and become permanent in 24 hours. You can bury copper in sawdust or potato chips soaked in white vinegar. The longer the copper is buried the darker the patina.
