Want peel
It is important TO PREP the area well. Sand and peeling areas. Use a good primer. If it is a bathroom, use special paint designated for baths. You may need an exhaust fan put in a bathroom if it continues to peel.
LOL
Use a stain blocking primer before painting.
Hey Dean! In order to prevent peeling, I'd definitely recommend sanding. If you use a Chalk or other "No prep" paint without sanding, it will peel eventually. I would sand with 150 grit sandpaper. You don't need to completely remove all the paint, but you need to remove any shine and give the paint something to grip to. I hope this helps!
A good quality bonding primr.
This really depends on what you are painting and what type of paint was used previously. On drywall that has been painted with latex, just paint over it. A color change will usually require two coats. Be sure to sand or wash any oily areas or paint those spots with Kilz.
