Sarah T on Sep 13, 2012our dollar store has great vase, that can be tied with bandana's, and filled with daisy - the white and red would be striking, and very western. Straw bales and raffia garland tied around the backs of chair covers, It would be fantastic if you can find a venue where you can rent a barn. There are a few around here - that we've used for youth activities and dances. Simple is better. Good luckHelpful Reply

Z on Sep 13, 2012Those have become quite popular lately. One of my cousins daughters just had one. They were married outside and not only did the wedding party have on western boots most had their dogs by their side. I just did a Google Image search and came up with this... https://www.google.com/search?q=western+weddings.&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=iIv&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Gy5SUP-yCcmK2gWL84GYCw&ved=0CEAQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=870 If you click on "web" on the left side of that page you'll find loads of sites to help out too. I also Googled "western wedding + blog" and found these links.... https://www.google.com/search?q=western+weddings.&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=FyF&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=JC5SUOPKIMeA2AWE0oDICA&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAA&biw=1280&bih=870#hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=tga&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&sclient=psy-ab&q=western+weddings+%2B+blog&oq=western+weddings+%2B+blog&gs_l=serp.3..0i22.21829.32456.1.33381.43.26.13.0.0.0.352.4501.2j16j7j1.26.0.les%3B..2.0...1c.1.z7ra3sJZZHM&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=50d85166a997f55&biw=1280&bih=870Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Sep 14, 2012Use cowboy hats to hold things like the birdseed bags for throwing...and these could be squares cut from those red and blue bandanas tied with jute! Tin plates could be used instead of glassware (if your budget can go for this) and you can use tin celing tiles for things like a tray on a table holding cookies or treats!Helpful Reply

Susan Roberson on Sep 14, 2012Some great ideas....Thanks, but everyone keeps telling me to wait till next spring or summer to plan because they could split up. Is it to early to plan the decor? This is all new to me and of course the couple.Helpful Reply

360 Sod (Donna Dixson) on Sep 16, 2012I think the pinterest idea is a great one. You can create a board for it and open it up to your friends to add ideas. Post it here as well so we come across a really cool idea we can add it to the board. I love cowboy stuff!Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Sep 17, 2012You can certainly be planning and looking now because what you will want for fall will not be easily found in the summer when you start trying to buy for a fall weding...in fact, it is a good idea to do some shopping at the after Halloween and Thanksgiving sales to pick up silk leaves, etc. A lot of the same things are used in both of these holiday decorations. The Dollar Store usually puts on good sales of these items...mine had them marked off 90% last year and I bought up bunches! You can take the leaves off a halloween wreath and use them anywhere! Or take the halloween/Thanksgiving items off the wreath and add a paper wedding bell and bow! The worse that could happen is you could use the stuff to decorate your home later and even share with your friends!Helpful Reply

Connie Burns Hinman on Jan 17, 2013you can make a scrapbook on here or on Pinterest just dont put their names on it and you never know you ideas may give someone else some inspiration and hay and mason jars and cowboy hats arent that expensive.. may i suggest some rough cut picnic tables instead of worrying about a seating chart they can be put together in no time and if you toss a few bbq grills out and set up side dishes it wont feel so formal and will make for easier clean up. just a thought we are gonna use it for my son as soon as i convince him he is marrying his lady friend:)Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Jan 18, 2013We cannot stop planning and living our lives for fear of what will happen or disappoint us in the future! But please be careful and don't let this wedding take over your life. Get a poster board to use for a project board and draw squares with room to write. As you complete a task fill in the square & describe. For instance, a yard of red or blue bandana material would only cost a few dollars...go head and buy a yard...that would be plenty to make the squares to hold the birdseed...using a ball of jute string (available at Home Depot) can be used to tie them. Go ahead and buy things like this because you can always use them. Get a bin and start putting things in there. Cut a small square & tape it & a piece of the string to your project board. One thing completed. Place your project board behind the sofa and bride can check it out from time to time to see what is left to be completed! Just relax and enjoy the journey!Helpful Reply
