Changing table repurposing

Liza
by Liza
I got this changing table and wanted to make it into a buffet for my dining room. Saw a great technique that makes it look metal and then glazed for antiquing. Has anyone every tried this? How difficult is it to do? It would be the focal point of the dining room.
Thanks,

I have done pieces in Rustoleum's Hammered Metals collection, and they do make an antique glaze, but I don't think you would need it over the Hammered Metals, they already look antiqued.

Here's a site where a woman shows how she makes wood furniture look like stainless steel! http://renewredo.blogspot.com/2012/03/stainless-steel-look-furniture-how-to.html ; Its gorgeous!

The drawer can be used for silverware, linen napkins, whatever needs to be kept clean. The bottom shelf can be used as a wine rack, you can purchase one that's small to fit a few bottles. HomeGoods, Walmart, and even a liquor store might have one. Along side that, put wine glasses on the shelf up side down, so you can just wipe the bottoms when you need them. The top, try to put some nice cloth on the top of the wood then put plates, linen napkins, silverware. I would use this as a place to setup for a buffet, but use something else to put food on. It's to small to serve food on. Good Luck!

Saw this on YouTube. The narrator is a little annoying to me, but I like the results she gets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiaTJN_RtvM

Mosaic tile the top. Leave the rest alone. It is a beautiful piece of furniture.
