You could make a slip cover that you can put pads into for the back, seat and handles that you can slip on. I have one of those for hubby and they wouldn't be very comfortable without plenty of padding if you plan on sitting on it very much.Helpful Reply -

Shower chairs are made specifically with a non slip surface. It would be a shame to cover this surface when it could be used by someone else who could really use it. Instead of spending the money trying to reinvent it into a piece of furniture that it was never intended to be, why not donate on it to a "better home".Helpful Reply -

I would make a padded seat and then cover it with a slip cover. Find a fun fabric :)Helpful Reply -
