I think her question came in two parts--darn that old ENTER key! I believe she wants directions to a wood counter top.

About 2 weeks ago, there was an awesome vidio/regarding of butcherblock countertop on Hometalk.

My friend had an aweful leak in her kitchen, this last week. It resulted in tearing up her existing countertop/kitchen.

Being retired would a great expence.

A repeat of that article would help to put her once beautiful kitchen back in order.

Please show me how to find it.

  • We rent and have Butcher block counter tops. They're really pretty, but between my husband, myself and three teenage boys who seem always to be cooking/eating something--and I'm the only one who seems to know how to clean up a mess--they're kind of a pain. They need to be oiled at least once a month, and you need to be careful about putting hot pans on them. (Hubby accidentally "branded" the counter when he pulled a hot cast iron wok off the stove and put it on the counter. ) 😮

If I were building or remodeling my own kitchen I'd choose something else--but that's my personal opinion.

Not a big deal. Who hasn't burned or left a mark from hot pans. For me it was the kitchen table. It was getting scratched up anyway and needs to be refinished or painted...or donated! Lol.
