If you don't want to replace it, you may want to paint it and get some decorative bulbs. Batteries and bulbs would be the best place to go. I replaced mine with some antique wall sconces I found on eBay.

Search on Amazon or Ebay for a "Linen Fabric Bathroom Vanity Light Refresh Kit". I found one several months ago for around $15 for a rental house I was remodeling. Made a huge difference by covering up the not-so-pretty light fixture!
