CO& FABRIC!
Hi Betsy, You can use mod podge.I cover the pot with mod podge and let it dry. Since clay pots are porous I put the layer on first so that it has more to stick to. Then I put on another coat and then put on the fabric. Then i go over the fabric with more mod podge. If it will be going outside, they make an outdoor mod podge. I would love to see it when you are done if that is possible.
Hi Betsy,
I would cover the pot with mod podge, apply my fabric, and then 1-2 more layers of mod podge. You could really have a blast making holiday or occasion pots.
Attached is a copy of a box I did with mod podge and pieces of paper. The same could be done with material pieces and mod podge. Cut material into small pieces, cover area with mod podge, attach material and cover over with more mod podge. When finished cover whole area with modpodge again and leave to dry.
Your CERAMIC pot can be covered with fabric by using white glue and water mixed 50/50. Apply the mixture with a brush or even with your fingers, add fabric and cover the fabric with mixture smoothing the fabric all around. Let dry then brush on more of mixture. The white glue dries clear and the mixture is very similar to ModPodge. The beauty of using this is that if you later decide you want to remove it you can just soak in warm soapy water and pull the fabric away from your ceramic pot.
you could also do a “casual look” with just glue gun and loose fabric
