I would use ginger bread trim, purchased from a craft store! Put trim around mirror or just on the corners!
W/o pic hard to see what you want but frame it where it is but paint frame before miter.
You can get a plain cut mirror and then add trim around it with mitered cuts and paint. Or you can order frame pieces that are made to fit standard mirrors.
