Wet the ribbon, scrunch it up squeezing the water out. Place it in a bowl of strong coffee or black tea. Check the dying process to get the aged look. It will be lighter when it dries. Once dry, you can use a toothbrush dipped in black, or brown paint and spatter the ribbon unevenly with your finger against the bristles.
