Can I use two kinds of paint on my birdhouses?

I am painting a group of (some bare wood, some already old / painted) birdhouses and want to use what paints I already have, to include trimming them for appearance. Some are old plain wood dollhouses I have converted. I do have spray paints (the cheap kind from Walmart/Dollar General, not the pricier kind for plastics) and think that would be easiest for adhering to the wood as my base. The reverse side of the cans say they are enamel for wood, metal. However, my big ? is for the "trim" ........ I have 2 types: a lot of acrylic-in-a-tube colors and also some of those little enamel colors from the kids' model sets. Will these 2 types work to apply on top, so they will "stick" and not come off later?

My birdhouse is hanging on my front porch so it does not get any weathering...but we get babies every year. They are so cute. We had 4 eggs this year and now we have 4 little ones frequently hopping around our front steps!

I just used craft paint from the hobby store to decorate mine.

We used to love sitting on this porch, it was so pretty. But once I hung the birdhouse, we could no longer sit out there because it upset the momma bird tending the eggs. Once the babies are out of the nest, it is too hot here to enjoy my porch. They also destroy my hanging baskets to nest! I am just about to the point of moving rid of the birdhouse and reclaiming my porch.

Somehow I always let them win!

I don't know if that would work or not. And a lot depends on whether this will be out in the weather or not.

It will work but keep in mind if placing outside they will weather. If only decorative no problem.
