Deck stain turned chalky-looking

I recently stained my deck and now it is all chalky and streaky looking. What causes this and how can I correct it?

Question was the deck cleaned prior to staining and was the deck dry prior to staining?

Moisture causes this chalky look.. You will need to lightly abrade the finish and put a coat of clear on top.. Make sure deck is dry.

The wood was stained as we built the deck. It was pressure treated lumber from Lowe's. It was dry but it was humid when we were staining it.
