
I have wallpaper on top of wallpaper. Can I just paint over it?

Hi Jem, I would not recommend you paint over 2 layers. It will peel, bubble and look bad. My best advise is to get a wallpaper steamer. You can get one at Walmart, Lowe's or you can even rent one. It is recommended to take the wallpaper off prior to painting.Down the road the paper will peel and bubbleHelpful Reply -

Lightly sand it first and use a primer. But I agree, after a while it may start peeling off anyway.Helpful Reply -

I would take it off. I know that it feels overwhelming, but you will have better overall painting results long term if you take it off. Good luck!Helpful Reply -

I agree with Nancy. I have already been there & everything is good. P.s. It's been awhile ; no peeling. Have fun.lightly sand, prime & paint. T.J.Indiana girl.
