Kitchen Cabinet Color- What color should I paint my cabinets?

My kitchen is painted a greige color and because it's all one space ( kitchen and living area) I can't change the wall color. My cabinets are old and laminate. Sort of a burled wood look that's not too dark..just dated. The countertop is a dark black stone look laminate. Floors are dark charcoal grey, closer to black. What color should I paint my cabinets? It is a small kitchen, and I am afraid to go too dark. Appliances are white btw..floor is porcelain tile.

I also have a small open kitchen/living area and greige walls, white appliances, and a black/speckled counter. We are planning on stripping the wood cabinets and painting them white and adding brushed nickel knobs. I put white sheer curtains up to lighten the place and bring in more light and I, personally, am going with a beachy and blue color scheme which matches the area I live in. These small spaces seem to almost absorb any dark colors which make them feel even smaller! Good luck!!

I think you said your walls are gray. I love white cabinets or light gray.

Grey or white then...or possibly a tuxedo look. White on the top, grey on the bottom?
