Polyurethane scratches easy...is there a solution?

I have applied MANY coats of polyurethane on an old refurbished chest, is there a coating of sorts that will reduce or prevent scratches? I used miniwax one coat 3x protection clear gloss....lost count of how many I applied.

There’s something called a Swedish water finish we have used with great success on our wood floors (two crazy dogs give it a regular test). I imagine you could use on your chest. Good luck!Helpful Reply -

Sounds like you applied too many coats of poly. You can remove it with a Citris Stripper and then use a polycrylic sealer that is water based. Two coats max.Helpful Reply -
